Forté and Roe: Live! at the Missouri Theatre

Sutu and Bill met at a ‘jam session' at
Cooper's Landing in Easley, Missouri in the
mid-nineties. At the time Bill was leading
a group of musicians in a ‘jam', allowing
each of them a chance to solo. The key-
boardist was taking a break, when a lady
from the audience came up and ask to
join in the jam. As soon as she started
playing, Bill realized she was no ordinary
"piano player." But alas, she left without
Bill getting her name!

A few months later the pair had another
‘chance meeting' at another musical
event. This time Bill got her name and
phone number. From the first time they
played together, Bill and Sutu saw there
was a special chemistry, often finishing
each other's improvisational phrases.

   They began writing their own
compositions and performing in 2001.
   A ‘live' album was recorded at the
Missouri Theatre in September 2002
where their concert performance at a
benefit for the Missouri Theatre evoked
an enthusiastic response including two
standing ovations. They recorded a second
live album in 2003 at the Cherry Street Artisan.
Forté and Roe are busy recording new compositions
and will be releasing their first studio album soon.
